Your KDL-40W4000 comes with Sony's BRAVIA ENGINE which is the high picture performance engine used in the latest Sony LCD televisions. An original picture tuning and noise reduction process was developed by Sony to guarantee vivid and high contrast images. The complex noise reduction process of the KDL-40W4000 enhances low contrast images until they are crisp and realistic, and processes blues, greens and whites within each frame to generate the richness and colour accuracy.

Live Colour Creation is a new Sony technology unique to BRAVIA televisions. Your KDL-40W4000 has LCC which delivers 30% wider colour than conventional LCD technology. This results in a release of far deeper and more accurate tones for stunning colour reproduction, exactly as nature intended.

x.v.Colour integrated into your KDL-40W4000 delivers almost twice as many colours as the full RGB palette. x.v.Colour enables much more realistic images to be presented on-screen, although you'll need to own a High Definition TV to see them at their best.

HDMI Stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface and is included with the KDL-40W4000. Similar to DVI (but using much smaller connectors), the multi-pin HDMI interface transfers uncompressed digital video with copy protection and multichannel audio. Using an adapter, HDMI is backward-compatible with most current DVI connections
